Bedford County Development Association and JARI fund first Bedford business with Microloan program
The Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) and JARI are pleased to announce the first Microloan funded business in Bedford County. id graphics, LLC, a professional graphic design firm owned and operated by Corey and Monica Meckes, offers innovative design ideas and affordable printing solutions for any promotional need.
id graphics, LLC purchased equipment to expand their in-house capabilities to include laser engraving. Laser engraving can be applied to wood, plastic, leather, certain metals, and even paper for practical uses such as awards and signage and for the purpose of customizing gift items with a business logo or special message.
BCDA has been working with JARI, based in Cambria County, to provide Microloan funding to the Bedford County business community. “We’re excited to have this flexible new loan program now available in Bedford County. It’s an excellent program that will fill an important niche. Businesses will now be able to access microloans up to $50,000 and have experienced business coaching throughout the term of the loan,” said Bette Slayton, BCDA President. According to Linda Thomson, President, JARI, “JARI is very excited to be working with a home-grown small business in Bedford County and are hoping to assist more businesses over time.”
The Microloan program, funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, can be used for equipment, inventory, working capital and a variety of other purposes. Companies can receive up to $50,000. The loan term will vary based on the use of the money. The interest rate is based on the company’s financial condition and credit rating.
