Job Title: Entrepreneur & Marketing Development Specialist

Supervised by: President, Bedford County Development Association (BCDA)

Position Overview: Join the Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) as our Entrepreneur & Marketing Development Specialist and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of local businesses. In this role, you will provide personalized support and mentorship to entrepreneurs across various industries, craft innovative marketing strategies, and lead impactful educational events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Empower Entrepreneurs:
    • Identify and support entrepreneurs at various stages of their business journey with tailored guidance and mentorship to drive their success.
  2. Lead Educational Events:
    • Organize and facilitate networking events, workshops, and training sessions designed to build a vibrant and collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  3. Build Strategic Partnerships:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key support partners, including CareerLink, Small Business Development Centers, and universities, to enhance our entrepreneurial support network.
  4. Innovate Marketing Strategies:
    • Create and coordinate compelling marketing materials and campaigns to advance BCDA’s initiatives, working closely with our leadership team to align with our strategic goals.
    • Employ forward thinking approaches and advanced AI marketing tools to design data driven strategies, optimize campaign performance and uncover new opportunities for engagement and growth.
  5. Conduct Market Research:
    • Perform in-depth market research and competitive analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and challenges for rural economic and community development.
  6. Database Management:
    • Develop and manage comprehensive databases of clients, partners, and programs to ensure effective tracking and support.
  7. Manage Special Projects:
    • Take charge of special projects as assigned, coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution and outcomes.
  8. Additional Duties:
    • Embrace various tasks and responsibilities as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Expertise: Degree in marketing, business, entrepreneurship, or a related field. Small business ownership or management experience is preferred.
  • Marketing Skills: Deep understanding of marketing principles with a proven ability to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for building relationships and engaging stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proficient in managing projects with a collaborative approach.
  • Business Acumen: Familiarity with financial analysis and business planning.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Illustrator, Adobe, WordPress, and social media platforms.
  • Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
